    The on-board currency is Euros. During the cruise, you can use your on-board credit card on the ship and this also acts as your cabin’s key card.     The A-ROSA ships do not offer wheelchair-accessible cabins and there are no elevators on board. On our three Rhine ships (A-ROSA AQUA, A-ROSA BRAVA, A-ROSA VIVA) we offer the cabin number 224, which is suitable for guests with mobility disabilities. If you book the Basic rate, we cannot guarantee the allocation of this cabin.

    The travel documents consist of your cruise vouchers, tickets for arrival / departure, an excursion brochure and various information about your cruise. These travel documents and all tickets will be sent to you after the receipt of the full payment, but no earlier than three weeks before your departure.

    Travelers are not permitted to bring weapons and ammunition or explosive/flammable substances onto the river cruise ships. This includes flat irons, candles and heaters. Likewise, the transportation of medical devices, which do not meet the technical requirements and the carrying of drugs, is prohibited.     Special vaccinations are not required. Children should have the age appropriate vaccinations according to immunisation schedule. Tetanus / Polio / Diphtheria: If the vaccination is older than 10 years, a booster injection is recommended. This also applies to hepatitis A vaccination. Please also think of an effective protection for the prevention and treatment of insect bites (especially in the Danube Delta) and a sunscreen with a high SPF.

    Since June 26th, 2012 child entries in the passport of the parents are invalid and children are no longer entitled to cross the border to other countries. All children (from birth on) need their own travel document. Even when traveling in Schengen countries, you should carry a travel document for each child with you. In general, there is no passport control during border crossings. However, in justified cases, identity documents may be requested. We encourage you to apply for a travel document for your children at your local passport office.

    The entrainment of medical oxygen containers may not exceed a total amount of 60 liters and is permitted only after the containers are registerd prior to the cruise. A rental of breathing apparatuses is not possible on board. Medical devices that do not meet the technical requirements or the safety regulations of the ship are not allowed on board.

    Check in begins at 14:00 h on the day of embarkation. Please note, that you have to be onboard one hour before departure. Please have your travel documents and vouchers ready for check in. In your cabin you will find your personal key card. This card is your cabin key and A-ROSA credit card during your stay on board. 

    A-ROSA suite guests have the opportunity to check in at any time after 12:00 h. If you board the ship in Vienna, please be at the berth no. 1 any time after 15:00 h for embarkation.

    a) Flight to Lyon:
    If the flight arrival or departure is not booked via A-ROSA, the transfer from the airport to the ship and/or back is not included. The airport transfer cannot be booked in advance as an individual service by individual guests. The rebooking of an A-ROSA airport transfer is possible on the spot on board and only in individual cases, depending on the availability of transfer places and against payment (A-ROSA airport transfer from € 27 p. p. /per route).  Alternatively, we recommend an individual taxi transfer in Lyon. On the day of arrival, sufficient taxis are available at the airport. Taxis can be pre-ordered at the reception on board for individual transfers from the ship to the airport on the day of departure. (b) Lyon Railway:
    The train station transfer cannot be booked in advance as an individual service by individual guests. Guests arriving and departing individually (not with the A-ROSA TGV-Arrangement) by train to Lyon, we recommend an individual taxi transfer from the train station to the ship or back. Depending on the volume of traffic, the journey takes 5 to 20 minutes each way. Taxis can be pre-ordered at the reception on board for individual transfers from the ship to the station on the day of departure. Alternatively, depending on the availability of transfer places and payment (A-ROSA train station transfer from € 22 p. P. /per route), it is also possible to rebook an A-ROSA train station transfer on board in individual cases.

    Flight Paris

    If the flight arrival or departure is not booked via A-ROSA, the transfer from the airport to the ship and/or back is not included. Guests who have booked an individual flight arrangement on their own or through their travel agency are recommended to book the A-ROSA transfer on site, depending on the availability of transfer places, against payment of € 37 per person and route.

    Transfer times: 11:00 o' clock/13:00 o' clock/15:30 o' clock

    Our employees are waiting for you at the "Information" next to the Relay Shop in Terminal 2D on level 1 with an A-ROSA sign and accompany you to the bus. If availability is not available, we recommend an individual taxi transfer from the airport to the jetty. On the day of arrival there are sufficient taxis available at the airport. Taxis can be pre-ordered at the reception on board for individual transfers from the ship to the airport on the day of departure.

    Train Paris

    If the train arrival and departure are not booked via A-ROSA at the rate "Premium all inclusive", the transfer from the train station to the ship and/or back is not included. In case of further availability of transfer places, guests arriving individually by train can re-book this service for € 33 per person and route on site. Billing takes place via the cabin account.
    If there is no space left in the A-ROSA transfer bus, we recommend an individual taxi transfer from the train station to the ship and back. On the day of your return journey, our A-ROSA team will gladly order you a taxi from the boat to the train station.

    The number of available airports is limited. A-ROSA books the flight depending on availability in appropriate booking classes. A direct flight cannot be guaranteed.

    Railway services are confirmed immediately, flight and hotel are always available at A-ROSA as an enquiry and will be confirmed according to availability. In this case, waiting times may occasionally occur if, for example, waiting list seats have to be checked at the airline.

    Take advantage of a free choice of trains. Your train tickets are valid for two days prior the beginning of the cruise. Please note that the ticket expires one day after the first train ride. Your train journey must take place directly from the start to the destination, with the journey being interrupted for one night and must be completed by 10 a. m. the following day. Unfortunately longer trip interruptions are not possible.

    The transfer service will only be available on the day of arrival and departure. On the day of embarkation,the transfer takes place from 14:00 h until 15:30 h. Our staff will be waiting for you in the courtyard in front of the parmacie Breslauer Platz/McDonalds.

    If you have booked the “Premium all inclusive” rate, the transfer is offered free of charge for you.

    The transfer from the ship to the train station is organised by the crew directly on board. You will receive detailed information on the transfer times on the day before your departure. As a general rule, organised transfers usually take place between 08:00 h and 09:00 h at the latest. We suggest to book a train from 09:30 h.

    Hotel: the hotel equipment is different, partly three-bed rooms or family rooms with connecting door are available, but occasionally it is only possible to add an extra bed/folding bed. Prices and availability on request.

    Train: Children up to 5 years of age travel free of charge within Germany, children aged 6 to 14 years of age travel in Germany and Austria free of charge only if accompanied by their parents/grandparents (with family child RIT ticket). Children up to 5 years of age travel free of charge on international transport to France (Lyon, Paris) without entitlement to their own seat, children from 6 to 14 years of age accompanied by their parents/grandparents pay half price (with entitlement to a seat). If a child up to the age of 5 years traveling with their own seat, they must be booked in at half the price of the adults, just like children aged 6-14 years.

    Flight: Babies ("infant" 0-1 years old) and children ("child" usually 2-11 years old) pay a reduced fare for many airlines, but never travel free of charge. Discounts vary between airlines and must therefore be requested from A-ROSA.

    Transfer: Long-distance bus operators recommend that babies/children up to 3 years of age travel only in mandatory seats/baby carriers (e. g. Maxi-Cosi). The parents bear the responsibility for safe transportation. The bus driver can refuse to travel with the driver in case of safety concerns. The buses used by the transfer agency do not provide child seats/baby carriers, as different seats are required depending on the size.

    A-ROSA can apply for free assistance/accompanying service at the airports for disabled or elderly people who feel insecure at the airport or on connecting flights. Should this occur in connection with the transport of a walker or wheelchair by the guest, it is absolutely necessary to register the device with the airline before departure. For this purpose, A-ROSA requires information on weight and dimensions (length x width x height).

    Furthermore, we would ask you to inform us about the extent of the obstruction/insecurity: can stairs be managed independently or is help needed here? Can the route between the airport building and the transfer bus be managed independently or is help needed here as well?

    In the case of international traffic/transnational traffic, there are restrictions to be observed: the routes permitted for transport to the destination are shown on the ticket (e. g. certain border crossing points to be used). Special case TGV to/from Lyon: there is a train connection for the train indicated on the ticket!

    RIT tickets entitle the holder to use a transport service in the following product classes:

    • Product class IC/EC: IC, EC, D

    The meeting point at the Cologne central station is located in front of the central station next to the pharmacy "Am Hauptbahnhof". You need to take the exit "Breslauer Platz". You will receive the information for the return transfer from the ship to the central station directly on board.

    During your cruise you have the possibility to park your car (max. length 5.10 m; max. height 1.90 m.) in Lyon in a parking garage. You will receive a parking reservation card with your travel documents, please fill it in and send it at least four days prior departure to the mentioned fax number. We kindly ask you to proceed to the ship pier (address: Quai Claude Bernard, F -69007 Lyon) and unload your luggage there. Embarkation starts at 02.00 pm. The local authorities do not allow vehicles directly in frontof the ship.

    Please stop above the pier and unload your luggage.  Afterwards you may drive to the car park and park your car on parking decks 6 or 7. Then we kindly ask you to walk back to the ship, which will take approximately 6 to 8 minutes. On the morning of disembarkation a staff member of our agency will drive you to the car park, where you will receive your car back. Afterwards you can drive back to the pier to pick up your luggage and your passengers.

    The windows and balcony doors of the suites and the cabins with Juliette balconies can be opened, all other cabins do not feature a window which can be opend. However, all cabins have windows and are therefore outside cabins.

    Incoming calls will be put through to your cabin by Reception. The normal roaming charges for outgoing or incoming calls from your cabin will be automatically charged to your on-board account.

    On board and during the shore excursions, you can wear what you like. The dress code is comfortable and casual. Please remember to bring warmer clothes for the evenings out on deck. For the shore excursions, we recommend you bring sturdy shoes. In the restaurants, swimwear or shorts are not appropriate for dinner.

    A-ROSA has five ships which are dedicated to the international market: A-ROSA DONNA, FLORA, SILVA, STELLA, VIVA. Here, guests are mostly from Germany, Great Britain, Italy, Spain, Isreal and the United States. However, we welcome many guests from all around the world onboard our ships.

    A heated whirlpool can be found on the ships A-ROSA AQUA, BRAVA and VIVA in the SPA outdoor area on deck 3. On board all other ships, a heated pool can be found on the sun deck. You can find bath towels in your cabin.

    In the EU, you can leave the ship as soon as we dock. In non-EU countries, you can only leave the ship after permission is granted by the local authorities. In your own interest, we request that you are back on board no later than 30 minutes before we cast off. The docking times may change at short notice. Please pay attention to announcements and information in the daily programme. Please always pick up your shore pass at the reception before leaving the ship andreturn it to the reception once you are back on board. We can only then ensure that all guests are back on board.

    FullBoardPlus includes an embarkation snack, an extensive breakfast, lunch buffet and dinner buffet and a tea and coffee hour. Many cruises also include seasonal extras such as sandwiches or midnight snacks.

    Travelers are not permitted to bring weapons and ammunition or explosive/flammable substances onto the river cruise ships. This includes flat irons, candles and heaters. Likewise, the transportation of medical devices, which do not meet the technical requirements and the carrying of drugs, is prohibited. If this provision is violated, passengers can be excluded from further transportation without any compensation.

    A-ROSA DINING is a served dinner on all trips longer than 5 nights (additional charge), which is offered on several evenings during the trip. Until lunchtime the menu sequence must be set, and the tables be reserved. It is also possible to make dinner reservations for larger groups. The menu sequence varies locally, seasonally and according to conditions on board and will be published on the evening before.

    The ship is equipped with an up-to-date vacuum toilet system and a biological waste processing system. Do not throw any items (including feminine hygiene articles) into the toilet, as this can lead to the failure of the entire system.

    The on-board voltage is 220 V/ 50 Hz switchable 220/110 V socket for electric shavers and toothbrushes located in the bathroom, the voltage is not suitable for other electrical devices. In the cabin there are also several outlets (220 V), which can be used.

    In some cities the port authorities assign several ships the same berth because of the high traffic density. In these cases the ships berth side by side and the clear view from your cabin can be affected. Unfortunately A-ROSA has no influence.

Due to high and low water, maintenance and traffic-related delays upon watergates and bridges the timetable can varry. In rare cases of severe high and low water or act of nature it can happen, that a section will be traveled by bus or train and in individual cases an overnight stay at a hotel is necessary.
