Would you like to explore the treasures of Ghent on your own? Then let’s go! Approximately three kilometres separate our berth from this enchanting city. Our bus will take you comfortably to the city centre and bring you back to the ship about 2.5 hours later.

Discover the highlights of this Flemish city as you are driven past Ghent Belfry (a bell tower that’s almost 100 metres high), the baroque Saint Bavo’s Cathedral, the moated castle and the beautiful guild houses that line the bank of the Lieve Canal. You’ll also have some free time to look around the city centre and sample typical Belgian specialities such as waffles, frites and local beer.

Bruges is considered the most beautiful city in Belgium. No wonder, because the medieval old town within the ramparts is still almost completely preserved. As early as the 12th and 13th centuries, the city blossomed into a world-famous trading metropolis. Your excursion takes you through a beguinage, along the canals through the old town to the market square with its pretty gabled houses and to the 12th century Basilica of the Holy Blood. After visiting this beautiful old town, you have some free time before returning to the ship in Ghent.

Antwerp is not only known for being Europe's third-largest port. It is also the most important city in the world when it comes to diamonds – with most of the world’s diamonds traded here. Our bus will pass the beautiful Cathedral of Our Lady (Onze-Lieve-Vrouwekathedraal). It is one of the highlights of Brabantine Gothic and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Afterwards, you will take a stroll through the historic centre with the Grote Markt and the lavishly decorated Renaissance town hall. A small tour then takes you through Antwerp's diamond district.

With its rich history and culture combined with a modern outlook, Ghent is a must-see destination for all visitors to Belgium. This pleasant university city, sometimes referred to as ‘the Manhattan of the Middle Ages’, manages to be vibrant and laid back at the same time. From the harbour, which is situated outside the city, it’s a ten-minute bus ride to the centre of Ghent. Once there, you’ll take a walk through the old town and see the baroque Saint Bavo’s Cathedral, the imposing Gravensteen – a moated castle dating back to 807 – and the Ghent Belfry, a bell tower which is almost 100 metres high. After the tour there’ll be time for you to explore on your own before you return to the ship.
