City Breaks along the Rhine

Prussian discipline meets the Rhenish sense of fun just where the Moselle flows into the Rhine.

The German Corner is the name of the headland between the two rivers. Wide, elegant riverbank promenades lead from here to Koblenz’s winding old town. You can learn about its Roman history and take a picture of yourself leaning against César’s bronze Thumb before immersing yourself in the city’s young and trendy cultural scene. Koblenz has made tremendous progress since it hosted the 2011 Bundesgartenschau (a national horticultural show), becoming more lively, cosmopolitan and diverse. The Kaiserin-Augusta-Anlagen are particularly delightful. This southern part of the Rhine promenade was turned into a landscaped park with artistic historic monuments and sculptures between 1856 and 1861. It’s the perfect place to go for a stroll or simply laze around in the sun.

City trip to Koblenz on an A-ROSA River Cruise

Step aboard one of the A-ROSA cruise ships and discover Koblenz from the river.

During your cruise on the Rhine, the A-ROSA AQUA, the A-ROSA BRAVA and the A-ROSA SILVA will dock right in the centre of Koblenz. Explore the city by yourself, or join one of our guided excursions with a guide who knows their way around. In the evening, return to the ship, and reflect on the day’s experiences over dinner, or relax in our SPA area. While you are still chatting to your fellow guests, the ship will depart and head for the next city – perhaps Mainz or Trier.
